What I Had Hoped to Accomplish With My Blog in 2012

The Blog Dare on Bloggy Moms

I had to think about this one a while.

I'm not sure that I started out the year with any particular goals in mind which is NOT perfectly practical at all.  If you have no expectations, you meet them every time, right?

Here's the deal, I don't mind what other people blog about.  The deal bloggers and conspiracy theorists and iguana enthusiasts all have a place in the blogosphere and none are wrong for blogging about their passion.  I chose my own path.

I don't blog for big bucks, but it is fun to get free products just to give my opinion.

I don't blog to document every millisecond in the life of my child, though she features quite a bit.

I don't blog to meet friends, though that has been a fun bi-product of being active in the online community.

I do blog to help people find local grocery deals and/or to do mundane practical things that translates to a more frugal, efficient, self-sufficient, or greener lifestyle.

I do blog to hold myself accountable as in the posted menu plan.

I do blog to lift up my husband and remind myself of why I am so head over heels in love with him.

I do blog to have a creative outlet whether it's writing from my heart or general silliness...maybe silliness is in my heart...

The intention was there for me to blog about the things I wanted to blog about and I haven't really changed that intention since it's inception.

So I guess, really, I accomplished everything I wanted to with my blog in 2012.  ;)

This is Day 5 of the Bloggy Moms Blog Dare.

Day 1 - My Holiday Wish
Day 2 - When Snow Begins to Fall
Day 3 - What We Tell (or Don't Tell) Our Children About Christmas
Day 4 - Acts of Kindness

  1. I love this! I'm not doing the blog dare this month, but I think I would like to write and reflect a bit on why I write (I'll link back to you when I do!). I am eager to read more and see where your blog takes you next!

I found you via the Bloggy Moms blog hop!!

    1. So glad you found me Ms. Breezy! It is a nice little reality check to actually take a moment and decide why you write what you write. I'd love to read what you come up with. :)

  2. Those are all great reasons to blog and great by-products of it. I've never really thought about why I do so at least, as you point out, I'm meeting all of my goals this way!
