Menu Plan

We had the most glorious day yesterday.  We had a fairly leisurely morning then set out for Fair Park in Dallas.

Brunch was in the music hall restaurant and was sumptuous!  I would have happily eaten the perfectly cooked beef tenderloin and nothing else, that was, until I tried the bread pudding and its sauce.
I may have dreamed about swimming in that sauce.
That sauce...mmmmm...

We were at Fair Park not to go to the fair, but to see the stage production of The Lion King.

I have always love stage productions and try to go to as many live performances as possible so over the years, I have seen a fair few shows.  But y'all, I'm telling you, this one is definitely in my top 3.
The first scene was incredible.  Awe inspiring.  Beautiful.

Diva leaned over in the brief moment between the last bang of the drum and the crowd erupting into applause after that first scene and said, "That gave me chills."  Me too my sweet, me too.

Last week we didn't follow a menu plan for two reasons:

1.  We were out of town for the weekend and I was thinking about whether we packed all of our clothes and the wedding gift rather than if I was going to cook Brussels sprouts that week or not.

2.  Deer season is almost upon us and in a leap of faith, I am clearing out our freezers in hopes of lots and lots of venison.

This week I will continue to clear out the freezers which isn't as easy as one may think.  Not only are there frozen casseroles and sides, there are also quite a few frozen ingredients which need to be made into whole dishes.  Thus is the freezer "circle of life."

Sunday - Out to eat
Monday - Orzo Stuffed Eggplant & Glazed Turnips
Tuesday - Spinach & Ricotta Tarts w/Roasted Potatoes & Onions
Wednesday - Baked Potato Bar & Salad
Thursday - Pumpkin Chili over Cornbread Waffles
Friday - Date Night
Saturday - Leftovers

This is part of Menu Plan Monday.

Comments

  1. I love bread pudding! I think it's the ultimate comfort food.

My SIL and her family just moved to Tennessee and her husband just got a deer. Apparently they have so many deer there that a person is allowed 3 deer per day!
