Madly In Love

Man, oh man.
I love that kid o' ours.

TWELVE!!

>sniff, sniff<

This is the last year that she will be a little girl although I'm sure by the end of the summer she will be taller than me - hardly a little girl.

This year she took up knitting and was instantly better than I am at it from the get-go.  See that hat she's wearing in the photo?  Yep.  She made that hat the day before.

Diva had decided to make a hat last Thursday (her first one ever) and promptly gave it to our niece.  She made another one Friday for her friend and cranked out one more just for good measure and that's the one pictured.  I am constantly amazed at what she does.

She has this cool ease about her whereby she believes she can do anything or at least will give it a go.

I hope that's not something left behind in her childhood.
I hope she always wants to make and do and explore and create and learn and relish and immerse herself in all life has to offer.
I hope life is always an invigorating joyous adventure to her.

Happy birthday our sweet little Diva.  I am grateful for you every day.
You are our greatest accomplishment.

  2. Wow! That is so awesome that she knit all those hats so quickly! I really hope one of my girls will be interested in knitting. My favorite knitted hat pattern is a spiral design with beads in it. It's not actually that difficult but really impressive looking. It's called Odessa by Grumperina.
