Madly In Love

Diva is at camp this week.  Away at camp for the first time.  Ever.

Remember when I said there ain't no sunshine when Engineer's gone?  Well that also goes for Diva.  We are a tight trio and although it is nice to go off on a duet now and again, for the most part, three part harmony is what I like.

Today I have been keeping myself as busy as possible so as not to think about her not being under my care.

It didn't help.

That is to say, it did, in that I have not sat down all day and got quite a bit done around here but it didn't, since I still thought about Diva all day.

I thought about if she got enough sleep last night, what she had for dinner, and how she coped with bunking with 6 other girls.

I wondered if she ate a good breakfast, if she is minding her manners, and if she is drinking enough water.

I hoped that she put on sunscreen and insect repellent, that she remembered to put her dirty clothes in the laundry bag, and that she is having so much fun that she is not thinking about home.

I prayed that she would make new friends, form a deeper bond with the other girls from our church, and be ignited in her faith.

I am madly in love this Monday because even though I like my trio, sometimes, I have to muddle through in a duet, or even solo to let my heart grow fonder in their absence.

  1. I know that feeling! My big boy went to work with his grandpa three weeks ago, and I can't wait to get him back Saturday!

  2. I'm sure her "ears" were burning as you posted this. What a sweet thing for her to read later and know just how much she is loved!

    1. Thanks Ms. Cricket. She is loved more than she could ever possibly know.
