Menu Plan - Pantry Challenge Week 9

Yes, we have passed the two month mark of eating from our stockpile.  It is starting to seem like maybe we had a ridiculous amount of food stored up...

Then again, all of the groceries were bought at a discounted price with coupons and/or on special.  The money that we have saved in buying groceries at rock bottom prices and by not having to buy groceries for a while, has a very specific purpose - getting out of debt as fast as possible.

One of the points we always try to drive home in our couponing and frugal living classes is that if you don't tell your money where to go, it will tell you where it went.  We are choosing to tell our money where to go.

We had a couponing class this past weekend and as always, it was great fun.  I love the look on people's faces when they realize it is not some sort of magic but a real possibility that you can drastically lower your grocery bill by using coupons.

This past week started off the season of Lent.  It seems very appropriate to be eating from our pantry and freezer during this time.

On the opposite end of the spectrum we are going to an Oscar party tonight.

Oh, and don't forget to enter the giveaway for a copy of both the DVD & book of "Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life."

This week we will be eating:

Sunday - Beans, Greens, and Corny Dog Muffins
Monday - Pork w/Plum Sauce, Noodles, & Garlic Bok Choy
Tuesday - Hamburger Sauerkraut Dip, Guacamole, Raw Veggies, and Chips
Wednesday - Grilled Cheese with Bacon w/Warm Raspberry Chipotle dipping sauce, Tomato Soup, and Orange Slices
Thursday - Cranberry Glazed Sausages w/Roasted Sweet Potatoes & Salad
Friday - Date Night
Saturday - Leftovers

This is part of Menu Plan Monday.

  1. We're starting a pantry challenge this week. I need to clean out my freezer and pantry before the good produce starts rolling into the farmer's market. I do love spring!

    1. I guess I thought that we eat more than we do. How that is possible, I just don't know 'cuz we three can eat for 5 easily! ;) This will reshape my shopping habits in the future though.
