Menu Ideas from the Brookshire's Ad


A meal plan is a great way to save money and not waste food.

I want to show you that as long as you are intentional in your shopping and cooking, you will save money on your grocery bill regardless if you use coupons or not. Generally, the cost of the whole meal will be less than or equal to the tip you would leave at a restaurant.

These ideas are taken directly from the Brookshire's circulars.

This week you could feed your family:


Chicken Broccoli Rice Casserole and Mixed Vegetables
Use: Rotisserie Chicken (pull off the meat use 1c. in this recipe save rest for later, make stock from carcass), Food Club Frozen Broccoli, 2lb. bag Food Club Rice, Food Club Frozen Mixed Veg x 2


Chicken Strips & Mashed Potatoes w/ Gravy and Green Beans
Use:  The Real Big Deal, 5lb. bag Russet Potatoes, Food Club Green Beans x 2

Bubble & Squeak
Use:  2lb. Cabbage, Leftover Mashed Potatoes


Tortilla Chip Chicken Casserole & Salad
Use: Food Club Tomatoes, Leftover 1c. Rotisserie Chicken, Calidad Chips, Fresh Express Salad, Food Club Cheese, Food Club Cream of Chicken Soup

Mac n' Cheese with Pigs & Trees
Use:  Food Club Mac & Cheese, Food Club Frozen Broccoli, Food Club Cheese, Food Club Cream of Mushroom Soup, Hormel Lunchmeat

Tomato Soup w/Grilled Ham & Cheese Sandwiches
Use:  Food Club Tomatoes x 2, Leftover Hormel Ham lunchmeat, Leftover Food Club Cheese, Brookshire's Bread

Spicy Orange Chicken w/Rice
Use:  Remaining Leftover Chicken, Leftover Rice, Food Club Frozen Spinach, 5lb box Clementines

Sausage, Biscuits & Gravy w/ Broiled Grapefruit
Use:  Tennessee Pride Sausage, Gold Medal Flour, 5lb bag Grapefruits

Pizza & Fruit Salad
Use:  Tombstone Pizza x 2, Leftover Clementines and Grapefruits

Homity Pie & Peas
Use:  Leftover Potatoes, Frozen Food Club Peas x 2, Food Club Pie Crust, Leftover Food Club Cheese

That's 10 meals for around $64.32 or $6.43 per meal or $1.61 per person per meal without coupons.
With coupons, your total is more like $58.36 or $5.84 per meal or $1.46 per person per meal.
