Menu Ideas From the Brookshire's Ad


A meal plan is a great way to save money and not waste food.

I want to show you that as long as you are intentional in your shopping and cooking, you will save money on your grocery bill regardless if you use coupons or not. Generally, the cost of the whole meal will be less than or equal to the tip you would leave at a restaurant.

These ideas are taken directly from the Brookshire's circulars.

This week, I would go in a slightly different direction.  With this week's ad you could make lots of soups and freeze them for a quick dinner another night.  Or maybe during these 30 Days of giving, you could make some soup to take to a friend or neighbor. 

Also, this is the perfect week for stocking up on all of your holiday dessert supplies:

SOUPS (serve with French bread form the deli @ $.99 each, Food Club Cornbread @ $.33, Fresh Express Salad $2, and/or homemade quiche made w/large eggs $1.19doz., and Food Club Frozen Pie Crust 2ct $1.50)

French Onion Soup (2.36+1.98)
Use:  Food Club Broth x 4, Leftover Butter, Leftover Flour, White Onions x 4


Herbed Vegetable Soup (1+1.25+1+.59)(1+1.25+.7+.59)
Use:  Cabbage 1lb., Leftover Onion, Food Club Frozen Mixed Vegetables, Hunt's Tomatoes, Food Club Chicken Broth

That's 9 soups for around $51.19 if you aren't using coupons or $5.69 per meal or $1.42 per person per meal.
If you are using coupons then your totals are more like $48.69 or $5.41 per meal or $1.35 per person per meal.
