What an interesting week!

Our gym added a new Pilates class.  As Pilates is basically my new favorite thing*, I happily attended the class because of my previous positive experiences.  In all Pilates classes I had been a part of up until that point, I felt great afterwards - relaxed and generally uplifted.  Unfortunately, the teacher of the new class didn't get the memo and she worked us hard.  Hard enough to the point my arms were noodle-y and my legs felt as if they could give way at any moment.  Worse than that, I ended up being that gal.  You know the one.  The one audibly grunting as she struggles to keep up and breathing like it's the last bit of air on the planet.  Ugh...  It wasn't pretty y'all.

As we headed out to visit Engineer's Grandma in the rehab center, we were in a bit of a fender bender.  Four cars behind us, someone ran into the car in front of them which hit the truck behind us which then tapped our bumper.  No one was hurt, thank goodness, and the damage could have have been much much worse.  Thankfully, everyone involved was very amicable and patient.

A couple of my girlfriends from Marshall came over for dinner and a movie.  It's always nice to spend time with sweet friends.  I miss them dearly.

Diva's book club came over Friday after school to discuss The Fellowship of the Ring and watch the movie.  We stopped mid-movie for dinner and after the movie was over, they all went to the new trampoline park.  Her book club is such a great group of kiddos and I am pleased that she has found a group of like-minded readers with which to discuss books.

A new pair of shoes warrants a happy dance
Saturday Engineer, Diva, and I went to some estate sales.  Sometimes estate sales are a bust and other times we really rack up the goods.  I felt like we did well this week with an oddly shaped Wagner cast iron skillet to add to my collection, 7 vintage hats in absolutely pristine condition, and a pair of shoes.
A new pair of Dior shoes warrants a happy dance par-tay!
Now these shoes are not just any shoes, they are a pair of never-been-worn-with-the-price-tag-still-on-them Christian Dior red/orange flats.  SCORE!

Diva isn't home much of this week so I will be cooking for 2.

Our menu:

Sunday - Leftovers
Monday - Glazed Grilled Cumberland Sausage, Cabbage, and Steamed Carrots
Tuesday - Lamb Chops, Creamed Spinach, and Salad
Wednesday - BBQ and all the trimmings
Thursday - Salmon and Broccoli Frittata, Congealed Salad, and Green Salad
Friday - Date Night
Saturday - Leftovers

This is part of MPM.

*I feel much happier about having a cookie if I go to Pilates, ergo, it's my new favorite thing.

  1. I've never managed to have that much luck with estate sales. Those shoes are a definite score!

    1. You definitely have a hit or miss situation with estate sales. I think I just like the treasure hunt...maybe I'm part pirate. ;)
