Sometimes life gets in the way of writing.  Then again, without living life, how would I have anything to write about?   It's the circle of bloggy life...

Last week our dryer stopped working which resulted in getting a new one.  It's always fun hanging laundry all over your house...notice the hint of sarcasm there.  Man, oh man how I wish I had a clothesline outside.

Diva and I started cross country practice.  By cross country practice I mean she runs with the kids and I bring up the rear with any stragglers.  Who am I kidding?  There are no other stragglers.

Y'all, if you are of southern descent, you are all too familiar with walking or running in very high temperatures.  Heat will suck the breath out of you.  Now those of you who are not only Southern, but live in high humidity areas know that running or walking in scorching and damp air makes you feel like you are walking (and breathing) in hot molasses.  Unpleasant is putting it very lightly.
It's a character building process.  At least, that's what I'm telling myself.

Our little trio visited another church.  It was unanimously decided that it was not for us.
Finding a church is also a character building exercise.

Sweet friends from Marshall were in town for family photos so we invited them to have dinner with us one evening.

Engineer's boss had a fish fry at work and I was invited.  Though, I'm pretty sure I was only invited so that I could bring the dessert.

More estate sales were shopped this past weekend; they were fabulous.  If nothing else, it is worth going just to walk through the gorgeous old historic homes.

Projects galore were started and are in various stages of completion.  Engineer and I cleaned out two-thirds of the garage, laid down the rugs that I had cleaned and worked on the weekend before, and moved furniture around.  Engineer looked at the bed frame that I had bought at an estate sale the week before and saw that we needed a certain type of rails to go with the headboard and footboard before he could put it together.

Diva spent the weekend in Marshall with my parents and the Operinos.  It was good for her to have that time with them.

Engineer and I picked pears at our friends' home and had a nice visit with them.

We also had dinner with our friends who are leaving to study and work in China.

Engineer had a couple of business trips during the week.

All in all, a fairly active week.  Which is good.  I like activity.

My menu didn't quite go to plan last week since we had a few unexpected twists and turns in our schedule.

This week we will be eating:

Sunday - Dinner w/Family
Monday - Stuffed Mushrooms (from last week's menu) Salad, and Roasted Okra
Tuesday - Spinach Pie, Carrots, and Ratatouille
Wednesday - Roasted Goose, Steamed Veggies, and Slaw
Thursday - Baked Potatoes, Baked Beans, and Salad
Friday - Date Night
Saturday - Leftovers

This is part of MPM.

  1. Heat and humidity make a nasty combination, but it's great that you are running with your daughter :)

  2. I think she likes that I am running/walking with her team. :)
