Madly In Love

Engineer and I have a new date night activity.  We watch the Hallmark channel's "Cedar Cove."
Don't laugh.

Now, before you bombard me with comments about how cruel I am to Engineer to make him sit through a sappy chick flick, please note that he likes it.

Engineer likes happy endings and after going through a drought of anything uplifting to watch this summer, Hallmark stepped in and saved the day.

It started out that we were watching a formulaic Hallmark movie (I don't remember which one, they are all basically the same and we like them that way) and the commercial for "Cedar Cove" played.  We decided to DVR it just to check it out and we have really enjoyed it.

Yes it is total fluff.
I mean, c'mon.
How dramatic can a broken nail or a flat tire be?

But therein lies the beauty of the show - the worst thing that happens in Cedar Cove is not that bad.
You are guaranteed a happy ending.  Or, at the very least, a reasonable ending to an episode rather than the all-too-often fretful, vengeful, and/or graphically violent ending on so many other shows.

We like happy endings.
The end.  :)

1-4-3 EM!  You are my happy ending.

  1. I've only caught one episode of Cedar Cove, but I love happy endings too! There's too much tragedy and sadness in real life to be able to sit back and enjoy something that will make you smile in the end!

    Stopping by from SITS! :)

    1. Absolutely Ms. Suzanne! It really brings down a date night to watch some dark tragic show - I much prefer light and frothy. Thanks for stopping by!
