12 Inches With Any 12 Workouts w/Ryan Cowboy Ehmann #spon

* I was given a free 30 day trial period of 12" in 12 Workouts in order to review it.  All opinions and complete lack of self-control are my own.

We are avid Shark Tank fans and were watching the episode that Cowboy Ryan introduced his fitness program on national TV.

So you can imagine how excited I was to be able to try out the program.

Before you begin, you really need a heart rate monitor.  On his website, it is more economical to buy the program and his heart rate watch than to buy them separately.

I made the mistake of signing up before I bought the heart rate watch.  I missed several days of videos and was unable to watch them later.  But after an e-mail to them, it was all sorted out and I was able to see the videos in retrospect.

There is a daily assignment, which I like, and he adds a little something every day rather than overwhelm you with information at the beginning in hopes that you keep up.  I like the daily e-mails as well.

His energy is kind of cheesy but infectious and I actually looked forward to his e-mails every day.

I would have really liked some sample work-outs since he wants you to work out 45 minutes three times a week.

The whole premise is using the power of oxygen intake coupled with a targeted heart rate to maximize fat reduction and muscle building.

After a bumpy start with the technical difficulties, I started doing the program...kind of.
The kind of part has nothing to do with the program and everything to do with my lack of discipline.

After the first week though, I started fitting into my clothes better.  No joke.

That was a cool feeling and highly motivational for continuing on the program.

No weight was lost but that was to be expected.  He wants you to build muscle and shrink fat therefore losing inches is a much better indicator of how your body is changing rather than your weight (since muscle weighs more than fat.)

After two weeks I had lost almost 8" from all over my body.
I was sleeping better, feeling more alert during the day, and hungrier at meals times.

I like his foundational program and have stuck with a lot of the small changes in routine even after the 30 days were up.

    1. I don't. Sorry. Before coffee and after sweating do not result in very pretty pictures. ;)

    1. I worked out every day doing his prescribed number of basic exercises like sit-ups, push-ups, rodeo abs, etc. As for a cardio work-out I tried to do it 3 times a week for around 45 minutes. I either walked/jogged in my neighborhood or zumba-ed in my den to get the time in.

  5. In his Shark Tank presentation he said that he'd hurt his back in a rodeo. I have a hurt back and am in constant pain and desperate for relief. Did you notice that your lower back felt any better, stronger, or more resilient?

    1. It's been a while since I did his work out but it seems like all of his exercises were easy on my back. I hope your back gets to feeling better soon.

    1. Yes, absolutely but healthy eating habits obviously are better for you and generally speed up results of any exercise plan.
