Madly In Love

Engineer has been taking quite a few business trips lately.

He was on one recently that lasted longer than usual.  During our evening phone conversation, he said that he wasn't that far (only 6 1/2 hours or so) and I could drive down for a day.  Then he mentioned one of the other guy's girlfriend was coming down for the night.

First of all 6 1/2 hours is plenty far thank you very much.
Secondly, Engineer would be working until 5:30 or 6 then would be back on site by 7 the next morning, so there would not be much time spent together.

Plus, I told Engineer that she was doing that because as the guy's girlfriend, they are still in the honeymoon phase of their relationship.

In a flash, Engineer retorted with, "Give me a break!  We've been in the honeymoon phase for 13 1/2 years!  That's no excuse!"

Touche Mr. Moppins!

I couldn't help but laugh and feel all fuzzy that my husband still thinks of his bride with rosy honeymoon glasses on...even if I wouldn't drive the 13 hour roundtrip

1-4-3 EM!

  1. Awww, what a keeper! Glad you guys are still in the honeymoon phase. I have to agree though, 6 1/2 hours is a long drive, honeymoon phase or not!

    1. I'm glad we're still in that phase too. I hope to stay in that phase for the rest of our lives.

  2. I had the opportunity to surprise my hubby while he was on a business trip once. He still thinks that was one of the best things I've ever done for him. He loves the notes I tuck in his luggage and computer bag, too.

    1. I bet that was a wonderful reunion! I wish I would have thought of putting love notes in his luggage. I think I was so sad that he was going to be gone for so long that I just didn't even think about it. Thanks for the tip.

  3. I wouldn't drive that far either. Especially if I had to travel with kids.

    1. I don't think Hubby intended for me to bring the kiddo along. ;)

    1. Sorry, my love - 10 hours round trip. Of course, I drive slower than you do and would actually stop on the way down and back so what may be your 10 hours may still be my 13 hours. ;) 1-4-3
