Menu Plan - Pantry Challenge Week 36

I hope you've had a great Labor Day weekend!

We spent the weekend either completely veged out and doing ab.so.lute.ly. nothing or we spent time with friends.  Both were equally awesome and rather indulgent.

Down in the depths of our deep freeze, I found a turkey.  It's about time for that bird to be cooked.  This week, I intend to give the turkey a new purpose in the shape of several different casseroles to put back in the freezer.  And thus the reason for the pantry challenge taking f-o-r-e-v-e-r.  Every time something comes out, 8 more things go back to take its place.  Oh well, there are worse problems to have.

This past week I played with a little gadget that was so cool it may make it to The Little Pink House Top 10 Kitchen Gadget list...if there was such a thing.  It was a vacuum sealer attachment for jars. What a brilliant idea!  That way, you can dry seal all of your beans, rice, pasta, grits, etc. - you know, all those items that critters can get into.  *As a side note, Engineer just learned about weevils from his bag of deercorn.  He was not too happy having to throw out the bag.

Let's see what we'll be having this week:

Monday - Biscuits & Homemade Jam, Bacon, & Watermelon
Tuesday - Stuffed Eggplant & Salad
Wednesday - Roasted Turkey, Stuffing, Cranberry Sauce, & Green Bean Casserole
Thursday - Black Beans w/ Pico & Guacamole
Friday - Date Night
Saturday - Leftovers

This is part of Menu Plan Monday.

    1. Mac & Cheese is for special occasions. :) Though Diva would happily eat it every day.
