Menu Plan - Pantry Challenge Week 33

You want to know something interesting about doing a pantry/freezer challenge?  I've learned that it really is better to do one or the the other.

Every time I start in on the freezer, more canned items get added to the pantry and every time I switch it up and start taking stuff out of the pantry, the more items get made then put into the freezer for later.  It is a never-ending cycle!

Sure, we eat some of it, but by me trying to get ahead, I end up with more than I started with.  I feel like the widow woman in the Old Testament with her vessel of oil that never ran dry - blessed.

This is the last week before school starts so I have to get back into a routine.

I think I can...I think I can.....

Here's what we will be eating this week:

Sunday - Leftovers
Monday - Sweet Potato Chili and Jalapeno Cornbread (this has been on our menu plan all summer but has yet to be taken out of the freezer and eaten - today my friends, is the day)
Tuesday - Tomato & Spinach Quiche and Salad
Wednesday - Black Beans w/Pico de Gallo, Sour Cream, & Cheese and Leftover Cornbread
Thursday - Steak, Cream of Carrots, and Broccoli
Friday - Date Night
Saturday - Leftovers

This is part of Menu Plan Monday.

  1. I'm stopping by for a visit from Organizing Junkie today.
It's another 107 degree day in Las Vegas. Man! Am I looking forward to cooler temps. Unfortunately, we don't usually start cooling down till late September or October.
Your menu for the week sounds delicious!
