Down and Dirty
*Warning* This post contains too much information, of that I am sure.
I try to act like a lady. I try to present myself in a way that would not be offensive to others.
But y'all, here's the honest to goodness truth: I sweat like a dog, no, they pant...a hog, no they wallow in mud...a really hairy out of shape man who has just run a marathon. Seriously. I did warn you about too much information.
There are so few deodorants that I have tried that have been successful in keeping me from smelling like the back end of a horse, much less keeping me dry.
Oh yes, I have tried the high powered 24 hour super strength deodorants and they react really badly...really badly...with my body chemistry. As in I smell worse after using one of those deodorants than if I would have gone au naturale.
Speaking of natural, I have tried the crystals, the salts, the deodorants made from chlorophyll and various other super health food grade products to no avail. They too make me smell worse than if I had used no deodorant at all.
So basically I had narrowed it down to one brand of deodorant/antiperspirant that works, but now I have two.
I was sent Dry Idea Advanced Dry Roll On to try out. I was skeptical. I don't like roll ons. They make my underarms feel wet. And quite frankly, I did not have high hopes for this deodorant since I have tried Dry Idea gel deodorant before and it was unsuccessful. I was pleasantly surprised.
I enlisted the help of Engineer. Oh the things that man does because he loves me. He was given very specific instructions on letting me know if I smelled fonky. Yes, I said fonky, not funky. Fonky passes funky by and heads straight towards nasty and unbearable.
To give you the best review possible, I have put this deodorant to the test. I have exercised and spent hours watering gardens in 100+heat. I have run around playing musical games with little kiddos teaching them music and movement for good chunks of time. I have stood in my kitchen sweating while canning jar after jar of pickles and preserves. At no point did I smell bad, unless you don't like the smell of pickles, then I probably didn't smell that great, but otherwise, no stinkiness.
I also wore shirts with no sleeves to see if the deodorant/antiperspirant would pill up under my arms but because of the roll on, it doesn't. It's clear and doesn't feel sticky or wet.

I currently use the "clinical strength" stuff. It's the Secret brand. it is the only thing that has ever kept me dry. i also sweat like a dog, i mean man that's run a marathon. And not just in the pits.
