Daughter of the King

Diva is an involved little...ahem, excuse me, not-so-little-anymore girl.  One of her commitments is to a prayer and service organization called Junior Daughters of the King.  So imagined how pleased and excited Diva was that I asked her to help me review a super cute tote with "Daughter of the King" emblazoned across it.

Diva's thoughts:  I like that it's magnetic because I don't have to deal with fiddly closures and yet my stuff won't fall out.  I can fit a lot of stuff in it and the bright colors are cool.  I like the pockets inside and the texture of the bag.  I like that it has a flat bottom so it stands up easier.

My thoughts:  I so appreciate that the material is oil cloth.  It isn't see-through and it is easily wiped down and cleaned.  The colors are so fun and lively and the design is such that if I saw someone with this tote, I would ask about it.  It is appropriate for all ages.   Like Diva, I agree the interior of the bag is nice.  It is somewhat waterproof so wet swim clothes wouldn't be a problem and with all of those pockets, your phone, keys, wallet, etc. won't get wet.

The scripture that is printed toward the bottom of the bag is Isaiah 51:11 "Everlasting joy will crown their heads" but it's that whole scripture that is my prayer for my precious Diva.
"Therefore the redeemed of the Lord shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head; they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away."
That is what I pray for my child, that she would be covered in gladness and joy and that sorrow shall flee from her.  And that she will sing.  Let her sing until her dying breath because it brings her joy, it brings us joy, and it brings her Father in Heaven joy.

But that's not all DaySpring sent me...

I was sent a jute bag from DaySpring and (In)Spired deals with "Crown of Beauty" printed across the front and "Ecclesiastes 3:11" printed towards the bottom to review.  Jute bags are my absolute favorite reusable shopping bags because they are so sturdy and hold a ton and this one has a sturdy flat bottom which makes filling it so much easier.

This bag actually has a cloth lining which would make it a good knitting bag as well. The full scripture is:
"He hath made everything beautiful in His time: also He hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from beginning to the end."

That makes it all the more appropriate for a knitting bag...especially since I never know what my work will look like from beginning to end.  Alas, the tote is not headed towards life as a knitting bag, at least not my knitting bag.

I have plans for this bag as I feel like it suits a dear friend of mine very well.  She has what I would call an insanely stressful existence and that is putting it lightly.  At any moment, life as she knows it could come tumbling around her like a house of cards yet, she walks through life with such grace that acquaintances would never know the constant pressure she is under.  She manages her marriage, her children, her household, her obligations, and her faith so beautifully and she blesses my soul every time I am around her.  That verse in Isaiah is how she lives day to day, not knowing what God's work will be from beginning to end but in the meantime, she enjoys the beauty of the work-in-progress.

Thank you DaySpring and (In)Spired deals for providing us these totes as another vehicle to bear witness of our faith to others.  How fun to be able to show our faith in such a simple and unobtrusive yet very visible way.
