Dishing It Up - Halloween Party Food

Oooooh I am so excited to present to you the Dishing it Up recipe hop along with this fine group of ladies:  Thrifty Texas Penny, Mama's Money Tree, Deals From Ms. Do, Saving Myself Silly, Dearly Domestic, 20 Something Saver, The Happy Lil' Homemaker, Saving By Design, and Eating With MiMi.

Parties are maybe not an everyday occurrence but certainly a very regular one here at the Little Pink House.  Because many times I need to be able to pull out a party at the drop of a hat, there are some basic preparations that make that so.  The most important being make food ahead of time and shove put it in the freezer for later but also, quick and easy recipes in my back pocket.

I might pull out some unfrosted cupcakes or cookies from the freezer to quickly decorate all spooky-like.  Or how about a dirt cake (made with simple pantry ingredients) staged like a graveyard?  For a Halloween party the gore factor needs to be amped up so you could take normal food and call it something else.  Like corny dog muffins can be find-the-finger muffins - and they couldn't be simpler to make.

This unassuming cornbread muffin is hiding a dark secret...
