Recipes Using the Brookshire's Ad - Jell-O Recipes

This week, Brookshire's has Jell-O pudding and gelatin on sale for $.50 a box.  Now I am not a brand name stickler for lots of products but one thing that I don't skimp on is actual Jell-O brand gelatin or pudding.  I can taste a difference.  I thought I might give you a few of my favorite recipes using Jell-O products.  This is not a sponsored post.  I truly love Jell-O products.

Jell-O Popsicles

1 box of Jell-O (I like to use cherry or mixed fruit but it's really down to your preference)
2 c. Boiling Water
1/2 c. Sugar

Mix all of the ingredients.  Pour liquid into Popsicle molds and top with the lids/sticks.  Put the Popsicles in the freezer.  Wait a couple of hours or until firm.  Run under warm tap water to loosen from sides.

Hot Jell-O

1 box Jell-O (I like strawberry banana for this, but again, it's down to your tastes)
2c. Boiling Water

Mix the two together and as soon as you can tolerate it, drink the hot Jell-O.  When I have a sore throat, this is my favorite thing to drink.  I think the gelatin must coat my throat or something because it makes me feel so much better...or it could be the sugar high from drinking an entire box of Jell-O in one sitting.

The Easiest Fancy Fruit Salad in the World

1 28oz. can Pineapple Tidbits, strained with juice reserved
1 can Apricot Halves, strained with juice reserved
1 Banana, sliced
1 sm. box Vanilla Jell-O pudding
Poppy Seeds

Strain all of the fruit juices into a bowl and mix in the pudding.  Sprinkle some poppy seeds over the top and mix them in as well.  Mix all of the fruit together in another bowl.  Pour the sauce over the fruit and mix thoroughly.  It's best if it chills for a couple of hours before serving but I can never wait that long.

  1. Here's one for you to try:

White cake mix per box directions
Let it cool all the way

Poke holes with a fat straw or handle of a wooden spoon

Mix lemon pudding per box and pour into holes and over top before it sets up, reserving just a little bit

Fold remaining bit into a bowl of cool whip and "ice" the cake

Set it in the fridge for a little bit so it can all firm up

Seriously, the easiest and best cake evah!

  2. Thanks Ms. Becky, that sounds fabulous for a summer dessert! Pillsbury White Cake mix is $1 at Brookshire's right now, and Cool Whip is $1, plus the $.50 Jell-O pudding makes that a very inexpensive dessert too! Love it! I will have to give it a try. Thanks again!

  3. I just finished one off that I made for a fish fry yesterday. It's yummy.

Tomorrow, I am trying choco/fudge cake with raspberry jello.
