Madly in Love Monday

I am madly in love this Monday because my Engineer lets me be me.

I like vintage.  I like odd.  I like Engineer; he's dreamy. >Insert fluttering eyelashes here.<

You know how I mention fabulous hats periodically?  They are not part of a fictional blog persona.  They are very very real folks - in all their feathered, flowered, netted, newsboyed, pillboxed, panamaed, turbaned, trilbyed, fedoraed, fezed, capleted, cloched, beanied, bereted, bonnetted, and/or widebrimmed glory.

And it's not just the hats, it's the vintage handbags and purses made from slightly unconventional materials (i.e. business cards or bras.)

We would be remiss if we didn't mention the vintage gloves...or the vintage jewelry...or the vintage belts...or the vintage clothes that get  Even my own Mother at times wonders about my ensembles.

But my Engineer, he may have a smirk on his face or even go so far as to say, "I'm not a fan of that one" but he never makes any indication that I cannot be seen on his arm.

I even asked him once if he wished I had a more conventional wardrobe and sense of style (I use the term loosely) and he said, "Nope.  If you feel comfortable wearing a bright purple netted turban with a peacock feather protruding from the side* then far be it from me to stand in your way.  I like that you don't dress like everyone else and aren't embarrassed.  I knew what I was getting when I married you and I wouldn't change a thing."

I'm pretty sure there were also comments from Engineer about how I deserve more fabulous hats because I am a striking woman who needs equally striking accessories and how I am the best wife ever and need to be showered with all things frilly, shiny, sparkly, and/or vintage...and diamonds.  Lots and lots of diamonds.  No?  Oh, okay then....must have been just in my head.

Uh hem...moving on...

Diva has already started showing some of the same dress sense.  There have been many days where I looked at her and thought she looked very much like Punky Brewster.

I am madly in love with my Engineer because he doesn't stifle creativity he embraces it - literally - even if it means a peacock feather tickles his nose.

1-4-3 EM!

*That is not a made up hat.  It is part of the collection and it is fabulous!

This is part of Heavenly Homemakers Gratituesday.
