Perfectly Practical #54 - Floor Tips

Today I've got a few of perfectly practical tips for your floor.

1.  If you have a stain on your carpet, mix 1 Tbs. vinegar with a 1 Tbs. cornstarch.  Gently work the mixture into your carpet and leave it to set.  After a couple of days, vacuum it up.

2.   To remove those scuff marks from the floor, use a little toothpaste and an old toothbrush to lightly scrub the mark off of the floor.  Wipe the area with a damp cloth to clean off the toothpaste residue.

3.  Instead of using commercial carpet fresheners, why not try a natural one?  Mix together baking soda and any of the following:  ground cinnamon, ground cloves, bay leaves, or dried rosemary.  Sprinkle on your carpets and leave for around 30 minutes.  Vacuum up the mix and reap the benefits of lovely fragrant carpets.

As with all cleaners, the first time of trying, find an inconspicuous place to give it a go.
