Madly in Love Monday

Engineer is not one to tell you what you want to hear but he is one to cut through to the heart of a matter. 

Recently, I mentioned to Engineer that I just felt kind of like I was spinning my wheels bored unfulfilled empty blah.  And Engineer, not being one who minces words just looked me straight in the eye and simply asked, "Are you right with God?" 

Wow.  

My slightly peeved stunned silence was noted.  He asked if I had been faithfully doing my devotionals and asking for direction in my life.

Silence.

I may have looked away and scuffed my shoe across the floor at this point while mumbling a weak "maybe not".

He challenged me in a much needed way.  I appreciate Engineer being the person to bear the brutal honesty and the swift kick in the pants I sometimes need.
